The WordPress Affiliate Software Can be easily integrated with the WP eCommerce Plugin.
Yes, it will work with all the checkout options of the WP-eCommerce Plugin after you complete the following integration (example, PayPal, Google Checkout etc).
Please follow the steps outlined below to integration WP Affiliate Platform with WP-eCommerce plugin:
Integration Steps for WP eCommerce Plugin
Step 1) Make sure you are using WP eCommerce Plugin.
Step 2) Simply install and activate the WP Affiliate Platform Plugin and it will start to track any affiliate sale that you make via the WP-eCommerce plugin.
All Done!
Now, after a sale when your customers land on the “Thank You/Transaction Result” page the plugin will award the commission to the appropriate referrer.
Remember to test it after you do the integration to make sure everything is working fine before you go live.
This plugin in went into the blog like a beeeze and integrated with WP-Ecommerce dead easy thanks to the detailed help that is on the site, I got stuck on the final step at the end of the payment procedure, found the info about Pay Pal PDT and hey presto its all tickety boo!
Just would be nice if all plugin authors who sell their wares would pay attention to the documentation as well as this one does.
Thanks a lot guys sterling work
Dave
Hi Justin, Option 1 is for 3.8 and later (3.8 +), option 2 is for pre 3.8 (up to 3.7.9).
Cheers,
Ivy
Your directions up top both say version 3.8. I know one of them should say 3.7
Wow, I just bought and installed your plugin (did the extra steps too for pre 3.8 Instinct E-commerce) and it is AMAZING. Works like a charm, thank you so much! It works perfectly with PayPal and with my Credit Card gateway service. Thanks for an awesome plugin 🙂
Ivy,
Thank you for getting this to work with 3.8
Much appreciated and a brilliant response time.
Have you done step1? I don’t seem to see the “Affiliate integration plugin” installed on your site.
I believe I did everything you outlined and yet I still do not get commissions showing up, I can see the clicks, but once a purchase is made it does not report commission, can you please help me figure out what I need to do? Thanks!
Works a treat with WP e-Commerce, hope to see the need for this removed with 3.8! 😀
@Alvin, When you upgraded the eCommerce plugin it wiped out the changes you done in step 2 of this integration. Simply put that change back in the updated version and it should work.
Hi
The affiliate plugin on shuzihealthjewellery.co.nz is not
recording clickthroughs and sales anymore after upgrade to latest wp-ecommerce.. any idea?
regards
Hi Isabella, I believe the comment you are referring to is an old comment as we have reworked how the eStore integrates with WP-eCommerce. All you need to do is follow the steps above and everything should work fine. If not please feel free to let me know and I will look into it for you.
Hi there!
Where you say above:
“admin March 3, 2010 at 7:30 am
Yes, you can integrate the affiliate plugin with Instinct’s WP-eCommerce plugin without using PayPal. You will have to use the 2nd option specified in this post above.”
Where is the second option specified in the post above? I don’t see it anywhere?
I am trying to use the WP Affiliate plugin with WP ecommerce.
Yes, I have activated the integration plugin you supplied,
Yes, I have added the necessary code to transaction_result_functions.php and reuploaded it.
I am not using Gold cart, just the basic wp-ecommerce. Is this significant?
I want to track affiliates and manually attribute the sale by changing the order status to ‘payment accepted’ in the backend of WP-ecommerce if someone comes to me for a photo shoot. This means I don’t want to use Paypal. How do I get the affiliate plugin to recognise the manual changing on the order status to ‘paid’?
Thanks.
Most likely you are searching for the wrong text. Please copy the following then search it
if(($email != '') && ($purchase_log['email_sent'] != 1))
If you still can’t find that line are you using the latest version of the wp-eCommerce plugin?
I can’t find anywhere something like
if(($email != ”) && ($purchase_log[’email_sent’] != 1))
in the “transaction_result_functions.php”.
Can you please update that?
Hi Nic, Sandbox is for testing purposes only. You can read more about this here:
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/how-to-test-the-wp-affiliate-platform-plugin-35
Confused. Should Sandbox button be checked or not? (in the 3rd party integration area)
You will have to manually tweak your eCommerce cart to add in a field that takes the affiliate ID and records the click. Unfortunately, we can not customize other eCommerce software.
How could I add the “Affiliate ID” form field to my eCommerce cart in the same way that you now have it for eStore & have it connect up with WP Affiliate Plugin?
Hi Barbara, This feature is available with the eStore. I am pretty sure e-Commerce does not offer this feature.
Cheers,
Ivy
Hi Rahul,
When integrating your affiliate plugin with WP e-Commerce, will I be able to set the commission amount on a per-product basis?
Thanks,
Barbara
Yes, you can integrate the affiliate plugin with Instinct’s WP-eCommerce plugin without using PayPal. You will have to use the 2nd option specified in this post above.
Hi Rahul,
Can I integrate your affiliate plugin with instinct without using paypal? So if I put the ‘closed order’ then your affiliate plugin will automatically generate affiliate sales/ comission? How ?
note: I already bought your affiliate plugin and estore

Hi Andy, just making sure… you do not have the “Enable Sandbox” option checked when you are doing live transactions right? This is the mistake that the other user did.
Hi everybody
I have the affiliate plugin working with Instinct’s WP-eCommerce Plugin. Just as the previous person that mentioned it (Peter) I am able to track the clicks but not the sales. We are using Paypal standard. I do get the payment confirmation from Paypal and the clicks are counted.
My page is this: http://your-errand.com/
the store is right there in the home page. We have stripped everything else from the site to be able to test this correctly.
The link for the affiliate that i am using as test is:
your-errandtest
I loaded products to the “General test 1” category for 10 cents.
Affiliate login URL is http://your-errand.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-affiliate-platform/affiliates/login.php
in the login page for the affiliate y use test1 as username and password.
Kaan, This would have to be done manually. Automatic integration is not possible as of yet.
Ivy
Hi admin,
Is 2Checout.com supported with the affiliate plugin for wp-eCommerce yet?
thanks in advance,
Kaan
If you use the “rm=2” value in your paypal button forms indicating that you want PayPal to post the payment data back to the site after payment then it is just a matter of checking the “Enable 3rd Party Cart Integration” checkbox from the settings menu.
This is just one way to integrate with the PayPal button easily… ofcourse the better way to do this is to do it through the IPN feature of PayPal which the WP eStore uses when you use this plugin together with eStore.
is that ‘with ease’ (ie the single click of a check box referred to on this site) or is integration complexity dependent on the type of paypal?
It can be integrated with any.
Hey,
when you say it integrates with Paypal… which Paypal please and which country? Standard, Express, Payments Pro? UK?
cheers,
Dave
Hi Peter, I understand… the affiliate platform plugin only awards commission after a payment is confirmed and verified. I have seen affiliate softwares that award commission as soon as you visit a special page in the site.. this is very insecure and you can loose a lot of money through false affiliate commission.
Anyway, yes if you use it with the WP eStore plugin it will work with any type of button that you create with that plugin (“Add to Cart”, “Buy Now” or “Subscription”).
I’m not sure if it can be added or not. When I purchased your Affiliate plugin I didn’t even think about needed a shopping cart to confirm purchases for affiliate. Will your shopping cart track purchases that are made with just a “Buy Now” button? I already have an add to cart button on a sales page and think it’s a little redundant to have them click an add to cart button again.
@Peter, I see the issue now.. you are using a “Buy Now” type button and it’s not adding a parameter (rm=2) which tells paypal to post the payment data back to your “Thank You” page so the plugin can verify the payment and award the commission (the plugin only awards commission after a payment is confirmed and verified). When you checkout using the shopping cart it adds that parameter so I cam not sure why it’s not adding it for “Buy Now” type button. Do you have any idea if you can set this somewhere in the settings of that plugin?
Page routing is not an issue.. let me check your site and I will get back to you.
Yes, the clicks are being tracked. Yes, I’m using PayPal as my payment Gateway. Here is the url to my sales page http://my7figuremarketingsecrets.com/company-specific-capture-page/, currently the page routes to a confirmation page http://wpleadsystem.com/checkout/, for step 1 of the process and then the next page is http://wpleadsystem.com/order-confirmation/ which has the link to buy. If the problem is step 1 in the process I can eliminate it…. I would like to keep it if at all possible… but let me know what you think. Thanks for all your help.
@Peter, lets go over it step by step to see where the issue is.
1) can you verify that the clicks are gettting tracked? (when you follow and affiliate link to your site this click should show up in the dashboard).
2) Are you using PayPal as your payment Gateway?
3) Can you post the URL of a landing page so I can check it out?
I’ve installed Instinct’s WP-eCommerce Plugin and have everything set up… following the instructions above.
I tried to test it to make sure it was registering under sales data but it’s not registering. I’m not sure what else I need to do to integrate this. Thanks for your help.
@Erik, I haven’t got the time to implement other payment gateways yet but I am working on it (soon 2Checkout will be available followed by Google Checkout).
Just curious if this now works with other payment gateways besides paypal now.
Wow. Nice and simple!
