WP Affiliate Platform Questions (F.A.Q)
Please leave a comment below if you have any questions.
This one depends on your theme… in my theme I have specified the links in the “Header.php” file.
ok I guess i’m asking about the direct page to have affiliates sign-up, like yours
https://tipsandtricks-hq.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-affiliate-platform/affiliates/
Mark
@Mark, you can do what I do.. I have crated a wordpress page called “Affiliate Program”
https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/affiliate_program
This is the page I send my traffic to. This page has links to the affiliate singup and login page.
I will add an option so you can specify a fixed $ amount for commission soon.
Ok, I’m not the sharpest tack in the pack and need some help. I purchased both WPA and WPe commerce. I have set everything up and it all looks great. Few questions, please help.
1. I have a specific data base that I want to have sign up as affiliates. I don’t see where there is a link that I might promote might to lead them to signup, or is it a direct to my site/blog. Am I missing something , or am I just stupid, after sign up I want to direct the to the affiliate log-in page.
2. Can I specify a fix $ amount instead of a % they will be paid for after each sale, or can I only do that after they sign up as an affiliate.
Hi Mark, There is no option for giving fixed commission (this can be done with a bit of code modification though).. I will try to add this option in the affiliate plugin.
eStore do not let you restrict orders by country. Couldn’t you state that you will not ship out of the US on the checkout page?
These are wordpress plugins so they only work on a wordpress installation. Do you have wordpress installed on our website?
Just purchased both simple affiliate plugin and estore. Install easy and quick.
Three questions.
1. can I set the affiliate payout to a fixed $ not % by default or do I have to change each on upon sign-up.
2. in the estore can i set it to only take orders in the US, we don’t ship out of US
3. to run on my website, NOT my WP blog do I upload the same files to my third party server.
Mark
It integrates with the eMember via the eStore plugin. So when you create any membership payment button using the eStore for the eMember plugin the affiliate commission is awarded to the referrer when he refers a visitor to your site and if the visitor becomes a paid member.
I see that you mentioned this can be integrated with your eStore plugin but can it also be integrated with your eMember plugin?
Hi Andy, this won’t be possible when the affiliate software is used with a 3rd party ecommerce plugin simply because it does not have any control over the other plugin. It just receives the sale amount and it calculates the commission based on that amount.
If you use the eStore plugin then you can set a commission level on a per product basis… so you can have 50% commission on all products except the ones that you have a buying cost associated. The commission on those products can be set to say for example 25%.
Hi
Your support has been superb so far. Thanks.
I have a question regarding products that have an associated cost.
I have products I made with 0 cost, digital products and I give 50% commission on them.
on these the commission is simple:
price: $20
Commission at 50%: 10
Let’s say that I also have a product that I have to buy at a cost of $10 and that I sell at a price of $25.
I pay my affiliates a commission of 50% but I want it to be a commission on the profit, not on price.
Do not want:
price: $25
Commission at 50%: $12.50
Want:
Price: $25
Cost: $10
Profit: $15
Commission at 50%: $7.5
Is this possible?
Is there a way to handle both types of commissions? Maybe with your e-commerce plugin?
Awesome plugins! I’ve just purchased eStore and Affiliate pack, I’m making an audiostore and your plugins will help a lot. Thank you very much and keep making good plugins to all of us! Cheers.
Natalie, All of our plugins work fine with mac. The website is not hosted any differently if you use a mac. We also test our plugins on all the major web browsers (eg. Firefox, Google Chrome, IE 6-8, Safari etc.).
Ivy
Is this compatible with a Mac system?
done.
When i purchased this software was only one-tier and i moved to one-shopping cart. I would like to move back to this program now that you offer two-tier but need the latest download for the cart and the affiliate program. Can you please send those to me?
Thank you!!
K
Bob, This will not happen automatically but you can manually tweak the plugin to create an affiliate account for the customer automatically when a purchase is made.
Ivy
I like the feedback I’ve read and your combo deal. Can it be configured so that when a customer purchases my products they are automatically assigned an affiliate ID allowing them to purchase future products through their own ID to encourage repeat business and provide a discount/commission?
Regards,
Bob Mood
Yep
Will this plugin work for WordPress MU?
The front end (what customers see) can be translated to any language using the language files that are available.
Hi There,
Are your products available in other languages? I am interested in Spanish versions.
Thanks
Rafael
Looking forward to buy this plugin..
Wow..this is a very useful plugin..is there any discount code available?
Halina, The affilate plugin can be intregrated with other programs but this depends mainly on how the other program works. Please see the following documation for more on this:
https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/integrating-the-wp-affiliate-software-with-a-3rd-party-plugin-61
Ivy
Hi
Can your affiliate plugin be integrated with the memberwing plugin?
Thanks –
Halina
Not yet… working on MailChimp integration now.
Have you considered developing an iContact integration?
Thanks,
Glenn
Good news — I’ve withheld from setting up an affiliate program because I didn’t want to be bothered with manually sending out checks — this seems simple enough using the masspay interface..
Thanks,
Glenn
PayPal doesn’t have an API for mass payment yet so the plugin can’t automatically payout the affiliates. It generates a report and a paypal masspay file for outstanding payouts. All you gotta do is take this text file and use PayPal’s masspay interface to pay all your affiliates in one click.
Hello,
Does the affiliate plugin have the ability to pay affiliates through paypal, and do it in a batch?
Glenn
My understanding is that… each landing page is just another wordpress page regardless of what theme you are using. This plugin will track incoming affiliate clicks on all wordpress posts and pages where it’s installed so I would say it should work.
Hi,
I have question. My wp blog using squeeze page theme and all my landing page using this theme. My question can your affiliate platform system integrated to each landing page?
Hey Anthony, thanks for putting in the good word 🙂 I have put this in the testimonials page:
https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/ecommerce/wordpress-estore-testimonials-154
@Eugene, I understand your requirement but this won’t be possible to achieve with this plugin.
I just wanted to put in an unsolicited plug for this product and Amin. As a former programmer myself I know how much work went into this eStore – and it does work right out of the box, including the PayPal IPN interface which I remember took me forever to get right in perl years ago. Furthermore, when I contacted Amin about a couple of required tweaks that I noticed, he immediately fixed them and sent updates which had loads more features installed. The affiliate program works well too and also by the way makes a fantastic keyword tracker, hidden benefit. Anyway, I promise I do not know Amin from Adam but I am please to put in a good word…Anthony
Been experimenting with Jrox and concluded it was overkill.
Love what I see with wordpress and it’s affiliate plugin.
Here is the big question.
We will be using a coupon based affiliate marketing system for physical products built on customer’s site.
I need a customer to read the affiliate’s code on the coupon and enter it at the point of the wish list to solicit a visit from a sales agent.
This needs to show up in the affiliates login so he can manage it from there.
In short we are using coupon codes as the main way to track leads to our different sales associates.
Any solutions with wordpress?
@Peter, no, this is not possible but sounds like a good feature to me 🙂 will have to implement it at some stage.
@Healthy Sales Exec, The license agreement page should explain your question:
https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/wp-affiliate-platform-license-57
Is there a way to filter performance reports for a particular affiliate in the WP Affiliate administrator backend?
Hi, looks like a great plugin, quick question before I buy it.: can I use it on more than one site (I have 2)? Thanks.
Hi Greg, this product is for people who want to sale their own products from their site and want to manage affiliates for their product promotions.
hi
thanks for letting me know – im a newbie to wordpress – does this mean that all i have to do is set up a blog and then upload this plug in? does it take a lot to learn or to know wordpress?or to set up a wordpress affiliate blog? my goal is to create a website where i have a landing page that has info that can be updated with video and comments, and the rest of the pages would be affiliate links.
thanks, greg
Thanks for the tips. I can’t wait to get this up and running.
@Shawn, when you use the WP eStore plugin to handle the payment it can figure out the referrer for the original sale when it receives the subsequent IPN for the recurring payments from PayPal.
I’ve read through all the comments and can’t seem to understand exactly how the commissions are handled for subscription payments. Does the affiliate only get a commission for the first sale, or do they get continued commissions every time the subscription renews, each month for example? These renewals are handled within Paypal right, so how can the affiliate get paid beyond the first sale?
Many people are moving to the shopp-plugin at the moment. will this work with shopp?
There are two ways to integrate the affiliate plugin with a 3rd Party e-commerce software.
1) Via the IPN (Instant Payment Notification) handling script.
2) Via the post payment landing page.
please let me know which integration method you prefer and I should be able to give you direction for it (this will need you to modify the membership program you are using to add this bit of code though)
Thanks for the quick response! Actually I have been using a simple membership plugin currently but was planning on implementing wishlist soon. If you go to my site http://www.china232.com it uses a simple membership plugin called easypaypal currently.
Could I just add your affiliate plugin to this and could you show me how to do this? I’ll probably just buy both your plugins anyway in case I need the ecommerce one in the future if I choose to implement wishlist.
Hi Addison, Yes you will need the eStore to integrate the affiliate plugin with Wishlist. Once you read up the following post you will understand why eStore is needed:
https://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/integrating-the-wp-affiliate-software-with-a-3rd-party-plugin-61
Theoretically, you should be able to add a bit of code that awards the commission to the post payment processing script of WishList but WishList doesn’t allow you to modify their code hence you will need eStore to do this job for you.
Hello,
I have the wordpress wishlist plugin and wondered if your affiliate plugin can be integrated with that? Or do I need to buy the estore plugin and if so why? I just am curious and want to figure out how I would integrate your plugin. Thanks.
