- Is WordPress Affiliate Platform compatible with the latest version of WordPress?
Yes, all of our plugins are kept upto date to work with the latest version of WordPress. We use our plugins on our own site, so it is in our best interest to keep the plugins upto date.
- Are there any ongoing fees for WordPress Affiliate Platform plugin?
No, the WP Affiliate Platform plugin is a one time purchase software.
- Why buy a premium WordPress plugin?
See the why buy a premium WordPress pluginΒ page.
- Does the WordPress Affiliate Platform plugin work on a WordPress MU (multi-user) installation?
Yes
- What license or licenses are you using for the WP Affiliate Platform plugin?
The WP Affiliate is a multi site license. This means you can use this on as many sites and you own and operate. However if you would like to use this on your clients sites you will need a license for each client.
- Can I integrate the WP Affiliate Platform plugin with my eCommerce solution?
The WP Affiliate has API that can be used to integrate with any eCommerce solution. Please see the “Integration Options” section in the documentation pageΒ for more details.
- Is there a limit to the number of affiliates I can have with the WP Affiliate Platform plugin?
No, there is no limit on the number of affiliates you can have with the WP Affiliate Platform plugin.
- Does the affiliate software prevent buyers from purchasing with their own affiliate link?
No,Β the affiliate software doesn’t prevent buyers from purchasing with their own affiliate link. This is so they can buy more for other people if needed(eg. if the customer is a web developer and building a site for someone else). This in my opinion is a very good practice as it also gives the potential customer incentive to buy the product and be an affiliate.
How do you stop people who become an affiliate purely to get a discount on the product? Most people handle this by setting the minimum payout balance to an amount that requires an affiliate to make a few sales before getting paid out. For example, the minimum payout balance of my site is $25, so you will have to make a few sales before you get any money (which will prove that you are a genuine affiliate promoting the product and not just trying to scam the system to get a discount on the price). There is nothing more I like than to pay my affiliates who promote my products.
- Does the affiliate software have the option to manually award commission?
Yes,
- Can the affiliate software automatically reverse the commission for refunded products?
Yes, the affiliate platform plugin can automatically reverse the commission for refunded products when used with the WP eStore plugin. If you are using it with any other ecommerce solution then you will have to call the commission reversal API or do it manually.
- If I have more than one type of payment on my site will the Affiliate track each payment type?
Yes the Affiliate Platform will track the payment if you use different types of payment buttons (Example: Buy Now, Add to Cart and Subscription payments). The Affiliate plugin can track the sale as long as the e-commerce solution (that you are using) supports it.
- Majority of my customers prefer to pay for my product manually through bank transfer instead of paying by paypal. Is there a way to track the affiliate commission in this manual transaction?
Yes, the affiliate commission is tracked even when your customers use the manual checkout option of the WP eStore plugin.
@Alex, We don’t have an integration at the moment. It is on our todo list.
Can the WP Affiliate Platform be integrated with WP Express Checkout? If so, will payments processed through PayPal using WP Express Checkout be automatically tracked and commissions credited to the appropriate affiliate?
@Luis, You can put the banner anywhere you need to. The banner just needs to link back to your WordPress site where you have the Affiliate plugin installed.
Can I put a banner link on a non wp sites?
@James, This plugin will handle that automatically for you. You just integrate the plugin with the e-commerce solution that you are using. If you are using PayPal buttons (that you created in your PayPal account), check the following documentation:
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/plain-paypal-button-and-affiliate-plugin-integration-168
After you do the integration the plugin will track all referrals and sales from your site and affiliates will get paid accordingly.
Hello,
Can you point me in the direction to show me how to set up the affiliate plugin with multiple product or services using PayPal so affiliates get paid for any product or service they promote?
@Anne, Yes you can do that. If you are using lead capturing on your site then you can enable that option in the admin interface of the plugin.
Is it possible to show affiliates a number of leads they got instead of just clicks?
Sometimes people want to know this information and I’m wondering if there’s anything to show optins that people send.
Thanks,
Thank you Ivy!
@ Kristen, When someone follows an affiliate link no matter where they land on the site or navigate to the sale will be tracked. Also if the customer leaves the site and comes back later as long as the cookie is still active and present it will track the sale. You can set the cookie life in the admin settings of the Affiliate.
You can make as many affiliate links, ad banners and other creatives as you want.
Is it possible to have more than one affiliate link per affiliate? I want my affiliates to have a link for my webinar and the product that I’m promoting on the webinar. Not sure on how to do this.
@Isabelle, Yes you can use EURO with this plugin.
Hello, I do not see the currency: Euro in the video for configuring your pluging. Is this money is possible?
Thank you for your reply
Isabelle
Thank you Ivy!
@LiveALifeYouLove, Yes the sale will be tracked in the Affiliate Platform no matter where they land on your site or navigate to.
Hi!
We are using the Affiliate Platform integrated with eStore on our website. So far it is wonderful! But I do have a question I can’t seem to find the answer to elsewhere.
I am adding creatives to promote a book we are selling on our site. However, there are two versions of the book for someone to purchase – a paperback, and an e-book. Each version is its own product page in eStore.
My question is, if I program the link in the creative to be the book landing page in eStore [http://livealifeyoulove.com/books/] which has both versions of the book on it, will that second click to the version they choose to purchase still carry through that purchase to the referring affiliate?
Thank you for your help!!
Yes, you can show the affiliate ID (and some other details) of the referring affiliate to the visitor. Please check this post which explains how to do that:
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forum/topic/manually-setting-the-affiliate-id-and-showing-the-affiliate-id-of-the-referrer
Using emember & affiliate plugin together is it possible to show the refering affiliate id and name on the affiliate or emember sign up page using a shortcode or php echo etc by say adding “?ap_id=user1” to end of sign up page?
Thanks
Hi, Yes the Affiliate plugin can be used in different languages. There are some translations already however if you do not find the language you are looking for you can always do the translation.
hello guys :
I’d like to buy an affiliate plugin for my woocommerce site. I need to know if it’s possible to use this plugin in other language than english. Is it possible to translate it ? is it already translate for other languages ? french and spanish ?
thanks a lot
@jdms, You can use the creatives section of the affiliate to add any type of media you want your affiliates to use for advertising. This includes pre-made emails, Facebook post, other social media posts, videos and other media.
Is there a way to add email swipe copy in the affiliate tools? ie. emails that my affiliates can use with their links inside?
@Bob,
I believe the following is what you are looking for.
Send Commission Notification to Affiliates:
Check this box if you want your affiliates to get notified via email when they receive a commission.
Hi
Looks like a great plug-in, can it send real-time notifications to affiliates when they have made a sale?
thanks
Bob
@Michael, I believe the following forum post is what you are looking for:
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forum/topic/removing-powered-by-wp-affiliate-platform
Hi , I’ve just purchased the affiliate plugin, any way I can remove all your branding & links “WP Affiliate Platform” :::
THX
@Donald, The cookie from one domain cannot be accessed from another domain for security reasons. If you want to track clicks and commissions from all your other WordPress installs (from different domains) using one install of the affiliate plugin you can do the following:
We have developed a small helper plugin that you place on your sub-domain/other wordpress installs and it will communicate with the main plugin installed on the main site to track clicks and sales remotely.
Let me know if this method will help.
I have several sites but would like to make just one site for my affiliates. Do I have to put the WP affiliate software on each site or can I run an affiliate program from my affiliate site and have it keep track of products sold from other sites that I own? For example, I have site A that sells books and site B that sells DVDs, can site C, made as Affiliate Central, keep track of sales made on sites A and B so that my affiliates only have to sign up on site C? I hope that makes sense.
@Yuda, Please see the following article on integrating the WP Affiliate Platform with S2 Member: http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/?p=368
hello
can it be integrated with s2member plugin?
does the plugin will provide me the information of the affiliate from whom the new member registered? how does this information is provided? is it a list ?
@Kim, You can set the lifetime of the cookie to whatever you want. So you can say something like cookie lifetime 99 years.
Can the affiliate link be set up for “lifetime cookies?”
Hi Mark, Yes you can do this.
I believe this setting is what you are looking for:
Allow Affiliate ID Entry
When checked the plugin will give the customer an option to enter an “Affiliate ID” in the shopping cart to give reward to an affiliate
Can I assign an affiliate number to an affiliate who does not have a website? when the customer checks out with my payment processor (maybe paypal), can they enter in the affiliate number at that time? will the sale be tracked by the software anyway or is there a way to manually process a sale without going through a “clicked” link?
Hi Winn, Yes you can do this but you would need to do this manually for each affiliate.
Can you assign a different affiliate commission level to different affiliates?
Hi Hadee, We recently changed the WP Affiliate licensing to a multi site license. It’s looks like I did not update the information here I will make sure to change this now. =) So to clear things up you can use the Affiliate on as many sites as you own and operate. However if you would like to use this for a client you would need to get a license for each client.
Salam n Hola
I’m a little bit confused here. Over at http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/wp-affiliate-platform-license-57 you mentioned that we can install WP Affiliate Platform into as many sites as we want.
However, here you say that we can only install into a single site.
Am I missing something?
Hi Sunshine, It is on the far right hand side after each banner, it is a blue link that says “Edit”.
Ivy, where is the “Edit” link for the banners once I’m in the βManage Bannersβ section?
Hi Sunshine, Sorry about that it’s actually called “Manage Banners” this is in the Affiliate Platform Menu.
Thanka Ivy, but I don’t see that option. Please specify where exactly I will see βManage Adsβ.
Hi Matt, You can change the “Target URL” of your banner or ad in the “Add/Edit Banners” section. Click on the edit link for the banner you want to edit and this will allow you to edit the banners information.
Hi Sunshine, Go to “Manage Ads” then click on the “Edit” link for the banner you want to delete. Once the “Edit” page loads there is a button at the bottom that says “Delete Banner” Click this and it should delete the banner.
The affiliate links default to my ez2tor.com/blog website. How can I have it connect to my product sales page instead?
How does one delete a text link or banner. I only see where to Add a banner or Create/Edit them. Thanks.
Hi Jana, Their is no way to change the order of the Affiliate banners. Other then deleting and reentering the banner (This would move the banner to the top of the list).
Hi,
Is it possible to change the order in which the banners are listed on the page that affiliates see when logged in? We have banners and text ads for affiliates to post on their sites and would like to change the order in which they appear. Does this make sense and where would I have to go to change this? Thanks, itΒ΄s a great plugin.
That’s good news, thanks Ivy. Look forward to hearing from you as soon as this feature is available.
Hi Sunshine, We are currently adding a new feature that allows you to specify a 2nd tier commission for each product also. The ETA at this time is unknown but it should be in shortly. Please feel free to email me if you have not heard from me within the next few days.
Thanks Ivy, however this doesn’t seem to be my solution.
I have added affiliate commissions (first and second tier) for one set of products.
I now have another set of products that I’d like to add a different first and second tier commission to.
I’d be grateful if you can provide clear steps for me to achieve this.
Much appreciated
Hi, In the eStore you can specify a product specific Affiliate Commission. This option is in the “Add/Edit” menu. You can find this option under “Additional Details” it is called “Product Specific Commission”.
If you do not see this option you most likely just need an update. To get an update please fill out the following form:
http://support.tipsandtricks-hq.com/update-request
Ivy, thanks, yes I am using the eStore with the Affiliate Platform.
Hi Sunshine, Are you using the eStore with the Affiliate Platform?
How do I add another product with a different commission? I see only one commission amount for first and second tier in my settings. I have another product that I wish to pay a different first and second tier commission on. How? Thanks.
Hi Sheldon, to manually reverse a commission you can do one of two things
1) Delete the original commission or
2) Add in a negative commission manually to cancel the original one. It will keep the original record so the affiliate knows that there was a refund.
Browse to the “Sales Date” menu of the plugin and you will see the option to perform any of the above tasks.
If you are using the WP eStore plugin then you can simply check the “Use Automatic Commission Reversal” option from the settings menu and it will automatically reverse the commission when you issue a refund from PayPal.
I have also sent you an email with the answer.
I ‘m wondering how the Affiliate Program handles commission refunds? eg: the sale is cancelled and a refund is issued to the customer.
I found an answer, quoted below, in FAQS, but don’t quite understand it, probably would do it manually, can I see step by step instructions somewhere?
“If you are using it with any other ecommerce solution then you will have to call the commission reversal API or do it manually.”
Would appreciate a response by email, I look at it several times a day.
Thank you for your time and support.
If you edit the banner in question what do you see in the “Target URL” field?
We’ve made banners and text links, and according to the set up of the banners and text, they are supposed to link to the main site but they don’t. I believe they may have earlier– but they clearly don’t now. Any ideas? Thanks,
chris
In the settings menu of the plugin look for the value in the following field:
Affiliate Login URL
Thats the login URL. All your have to do is add the “WP Affiliate Login” widget from the widgets menu to your sidebar. You can also link to that login URL directly from any page.
hi,
I did the affiliate banner for my affiliate page, but i cant find my affiliate log in page for my website. Please help me with this. Anyway, do i have to create an affiliate page to hook the affiliate log in for my affiliates or it will create an automatic page for me in my website. Thanks a lot.
cres
Hi Sandra, Yes the Affiliate rewards commission on recurring payments. You can either award a one time commission or a commission every time the payment is paid.
Cheers,
ivy
Hi,
Does the plugin calculate commissions on recurring payments from paypal?
@Shag, this page has detailed documentation on that:
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/awarding-commission-via-http-get-or-post-189
@Dee, It’s on the home page of the affiliate view (the page your affiliates land on after they log on). You can see how it looks from the affiliate demo account here:
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/wordpress-affiliate/wp-content/plugins/wp-affiliate-platform/affiliates/
If you don’t have it in your version of the plugin then you may need an update… this link will help you with that:
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/forum/topic/how-and-when-do-you-get-an-update
I’ve been told that by foxycart peeps that “POSTing some data to a URL after the purchase” is definitely possible and they seem very willing to help out. They’ve inquired as to what exactly needs to happen so that they can recommend the best way to accomplish this. Any way I can get some more details on how/what exactly would need to happen to POST data to/call the script?
thanks for the help, Shag
I was wondering, where can a person view their affiliate link.
Example most affiliate sites offer you to view your affiliate link.
Example: http://www.abc.com/affiliates/idjack2394
I cant seem to find this. If a person registers as an affiliate and wants to promote his or her unique affiliate link via email example. Where can this be found?
LOL… Please check with Foxycart and let me know if they have an option whereby you can POST some data to a URL after the purchase? If you can then we should be able to integrate it… the idea is that the sale amount and a few other details will be posted to a script on your server and that will award the commission.
I’ve purchased the WP Affiliate Platform and I love it. However, I don’t love my store plugin (wp-ecommerce). Due to a sore lacking of great WP-integrated ecom options, I’ve had to move to an external store solution. I’m using foxycart right now and I’m wondering if it’s possible to integrate the WP Affiliate platform with an external non-wp solution (specifically foxycart) and how would I go about doing that. Sorry I’m not very savvy with such things.
thanks, Shag
You need to find out the bit of code that gets executed when the “Submit” button of the contact form is clicked for the plugin that you are using.
Once you find that out I can give you a bit of PHP code that will retrieve the “referrer ID” and then you can add that info to your body of the message.
How does this work with contact form 7? Im not sure how to make the contact form tell me who referred them?
Hi Kim, You should be able to edit this email under the email settings menu. You can find this under settings and then click on the “Email Settings” tab at the top of the page.
Let me know if this is not what you are looking for.
Cheers,
Ivy
Hi, I’m wonering if the email that gets sent to the Affiliate is able to be changed from the standard text that is already there. I would like to include some specifics in the email and I can’t find anywhere that will allow me to do that
Hi Thindery, The commission is not awarded until you receive a payment. If someone signs up for a free trial and decides not to buy then no commission will be awarded.
Let me know if you have anymore questions
Cheers,
Ivy
Everything looks great, all of your products. Had a question though that I didn’t see anywhere.
How does the affiliate sale work if the referred customer ends up doing a free trial for 7 days and then allowing it to automatically subscribe after 7 days using your WP eMember software? Or what if that person tries it out for 7 days and decides to cancel subscription and thus I don’t get a sale.
How does your affiliate software handle these free trial issues?
Yes, everything can be customized by modifying the CSS file.
It there a way to change the design of the pages/skins?
Thanks,
@Dee, the affiliate ID is what the user use to login to the system so I assumed that the affiliates would have it in their brain. The affiliate ID also visible in the “Edit Profile” section.
Hello,
I was wondering when we log into the affiliate page, just like the demo.
I was wondering how come there isnt anywhere expect the banner page where you can find your “Affiliate ID”
Instead it should be more visible for new affiliates to recognize what their full affiliate ID instead of searching all the pages.
Unless im missing something?
It depends on what ecommerce plugin you are using to process the subscriptions. If you are using the WP eStore plugin then this will happen automatically. If you are using something else then this gets a little tricky but it can be achieved on some cases depending on the implementation method.
I purchased the plugin to create an affiliate program for our software subscriptions. Is there a way to pay our affiliates a percentage of the subscription renewals every month?
Okay finally finished syncing the language files again… now need someone to translate the words.
@stephanie, I will take you up on that offer π
@randycurry, you can configure your landing page for each product by creating “Banners” or “Links”. So the link depends on which page you want to send the traffic to. if your WordPress root is your main domain (eg. http://www.MLMTrainingBeacon.com) and you want to send all the traffic there then the affiliate link will look similar to the following:
http://www.MLMTrainingBeacon.com/?ap_id=affiliate_userid
yes, the affiliates can put the affiliate link in an email and it will be tracked.
In order for my affiliates to send referrals or prospects to “THEIR” affiliate link so they can earn a commission, what should their affiliate be for http://www.MLMTrainingBeacon.com ?
And, can their affiliate referral link be included with the email after signing up as an affiliate? If so, how can that be done?
Sincerely,
Randy Curry
Hi Anthony, regarding the welcome email being sent as blank… did you save the “Welcome Message” by going to the “Email Settings” menu of the affiliate plugin?
I will add more link in the “Forgot password” option.
Sorry to inundate you with messages but I want to get this working and get all the info to you before I leave for the day. I sent myself a “Lost Password” email and that part worked fine, I got the email with the reset password.
As a point of utility and to cover what someone said above, you need to provide a little more pointers for affiliates so they are not hunting around. For example, on the last web page of the Lost Password script where it says “Check your email for your new password”, you need to also provide a link back to the login page. Also, in the email you send out with the new password, you need to include a link to the login page. Things like that.
Thanks, Anthony
Now I’m looking, I don’t see that my last message got posted properly, so let me try again. I installed the Affiliate program and went through the process of signing up as an affiliate. I did not get a “welcome affiliate” email, what I got was a blank email, it looked as if the script had opened the mail program but not put any content or headers in, just sent the empty email from the server. Also, as the site owner I did not get anything that looked like the notification to the site owner that an affiliate had signed up, even though that option was checked in the option. Maybe you could sign up as an affiliate on the site and see if you get anything? As I said above, I’m pretty sure the email system is working on the server as the contact form plugin works fine.
http://musicwands.com/affiliates
Thanks, Anthony. PS, bought the bundle and the estore seems to work fine, spent the day setting it up!
Hi again. As a followup to my last email that the emails to affiliates were not working properly, I know that the mail setup is working on my server, as I just installed the Contact Form 7 plugin and it works great immediately to send me an email.
Another completely different question. Does the Affiliate program track affiliate codes even if they are not registered on the system? Meaning if I link to a page on my site using ap_id=qwerty, and qwerty is NOT one of my listed affiliates, will it still track the sale as coming from qwerty? The reason I’m asking is that this would be an excellent way to track non-affiliate links, e.g. on my google ads use ap_id=qwerty1,or qwerty2, etc without having to sign up qwerty1 and qwerty2 as “dummy” affiliates.
Anthony
Hi Tommy, yes you can change the text on your own as long as you are happy to open a PHP file and edit it π
Hi.
I want to purchase the affiliate plugin along with wp estore, but I need them for a Hebrew site. Can I change the texts on my own?
Thanks
Hey if you want to help I am all for it π
I will keep you posted
Ok no problem, I can wait for the language file! π
But I’m serious, I can contribute to that part of the work.
Thousands of dollars π (just kidding)… I want to do it but I am just not getting free time at all. I should be able to make some time at the end of this week.
How much approximately? I don’t mind to participate π
Hi Jonn, sorry about the name. I just haven’t been getting time to work on the plugin… I will add the feature before the weekend ends.
@Stephanie, if you want me to free up my schedule and do it for you then a lot but if you want to wait a little bit then I am going to do this anyway and you will get it done for free π
Thanks for the plug-in.
@John, How about this plugin that I created for you π
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/?p=1883
I’ll load it and check it out.
By the way, how are you coming with the Affiliate Welcome Registration Message?
Also, it’s Jonn…instead of John.
Thanks again for your help!
Hi,
How much would you charge to do the job for me π ?
@John, How about this plugin that I created for you π
http://www.tipsandtricks-hq.com/?p=1883
@Stephanie, I will send you a version that is not encrypted.
For some reason, I am not able to find a way to change the “From Name” on the wordpress settings menu. I saw a few plugins that I could use, but I wanted to make sure that it does not conflict with the Affiliate Platform. Can you point me in the right direction?
Hi,
When I try to open the files in Dreamweaver to modify them they are encrypted…
How can I do the translation?
@John, I should have it ready in a day or two… you should be able to set the “From Name” somewhere in your wordpress settings menu (no need for plugin I think)
Thank you for your feedback on the Affiliate Welcome Message!
When do you think that you will adding email an email customization menu under the settings menu of this plugin?
By the way, do you have a recommended plug-in to use for changing the “From Name” in the affiliate registration welcome message?
Jonn
Hi stephanie, yes you can modify them to your liking. Most of my customers/users are english based so the language files got out of sync over time as I added new features (I need to work on it to make it up to date). You will have to hardcode it for the moment.
Hi,
Can I modify the language on the register and login page?
@John, I will add an email customization menu under the settings menu of this plugin so you can customize the sing up email.
If a product has a specific commission level set then that value is used in all other cases the affiliate level commission value is used to calculate the commission.
How can I change the new affiliate registration welcome message?
Also, when used with eStore, which commission setting is used…product level or affiliate record?
@Change, I have done some major restructuring of the affiliate software and the language files got out of sync… I haven’t gotten time to fix the language files yet (Most of my customers/users are English based so this didn’t get a high priority).
How can I change the language files?
@Jake, absolutely… that is there as a placeholder for an affiliate link.
Is possible to remove the Powered by WP Affiliate Platform from the footer ?
